1. What particular sensory structures does the organism have? What advantage exists for that specific structure? Are there similarities to structures found in the other organisms?
PIG-The pig has many sensory structures. This includes the ears, eyes, mouth, nose, and the facial hairs. The eyes have a special mass of tissues that help keep the eyes clean; many birds also have this. The mouth has 44 teeth that are used for grinding food; many herbivores also have this.
CRAYFISH- The crayfish has special eyes called compound eyes and antennae that help the crayfish feel its surroundings as well as see them. All anthropoids have this feature.
STARFISH- The starfish has sensory structures called chemoreceptors. These are placed all over the starfish. Another sensory organ they have is that they have tube feet that help them cling to rocks and move.

2.How has evolution been part of their survival?
PIG- Pigs evolved from wild boars, which are basically huge pigs. They have developed different teeth over time to enable them to eat easier and survive better. Also, they have begun to develop a better sense of smell.
CRAYFISH- The main way crayfish have evolved is there ability to be live in different waters. The different waters enable them to inhabit many other areas. Also, they have gotten a thicker shell, which helps keep them from being killed by predators.
STARFISH- Starfish have been around for millions of years. The one major changed that they have evolved is their ability to grow back legs that get cut off.

3. Follow the taxonomy of each of the organisms from kingdom to species.

  9. 4. What are their cousins? What is one of their past ancestors (extinct) of which they share something in common?
PIG- The pig has several cousins. These cousins include wart hogs, wild boars, and guinea pigs. There is only one extinct ancestor of the pig, and that is the daedon. Which was a prehistoric pig that looked like a rhino and looked a lot like a pig.
CRAYFISH- The crayfish have many cousins. These include crabs, shellfish, lobsters, and shrimp. The extinct cousin is the Trilobite, which looked like a swimming clam almost.
STARFISH- Cousins of the starfish include the sea urchin, crinoids, and sea cucumbers. And extinct ancestor is the asteroid, which also had radial symmetry.
